Responsibilities
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on public infrastructure, including roadways, sidewalks, and traffic signs.
- Operate and maintain heavy equipment, such as backhoes, dump trucks, and jackhammers, ensuring all safety protocols are followed.
- Inspect work sites for safety hazards and compliance with municipal codes and regulations.
- Respond to emergency service calls during inclement weather or infrastructure failures.
- Clean and maintain work vehicles, tools, and equipment in accordance with departmental standards.
- Collaborate with engineers and supervisors to complete projects efficiently and within budget constraints.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Valid Class "C" Texas Driver’s License with a good driving record is mandatory.
- Previous experience in public works, construction, or general maintenance is preferred.
- Ability to pass a physical examination and demonstrate the physical stamina required for the job.
- Basic knowledge of safety standards and OSHA regulations.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
