Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery (street sweepers, graders, trenchers)
- Perform preventative maintenance on municipal vehicles and equipment
- Respond to emergency repairs for roads, drainage systems, and public facilities
- Conduct routine inspections of infrastructure and document findings
- Adhere to OSHA and city safety protocols at all times
- Collaborate with utility departments on coordinated maintenance projects
- Complete accurate work order documentation and reporting
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Kansas Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- 2+ years of equipment maintenance or construction experience
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions
- Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Strong attention to detail and safety compliance
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor
