Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain heavy equipment including street sweepers, mowers, and utility vehicles
- Perform routine inspections and repairs of public infrastructure (pavements, signage, playgrounds)
- Implement erosion control and landscaping projects in municipal parks
- Adhere to OSHA safety protocols and environmental regulations during all operations
- Document work activities and maintain equipment maintenance logs
- Respond to emergency service calls during inclement weather events
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on community improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Texas Class C Driver's License with clean driving record
- Valid Texas Water/Wastewater Operator License preferred
- Minimum 2 years experience in public works or landscaping maintenance
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification or ability to obtain within 60 days
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in outdoor conditions
- Basic proficiency with maintenance tracking software (e.g., Maximo)
- Strong commitment to community service and public safety
