Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on city streets, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy machinery including backhoes, dump trucks, and street sweepers
- Respond to emergency storm damage and public facility repairs within 24 hours
- Conduct weekly inspections of public infrastructure and document findings
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety protocols and city regulations
- Manage inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid Texas Class B Commercial Driver's License
- Minimum 2 years of public works or construction experience
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic proficiency in GIS mapping and asset management software
- Pass background check and pre-employment physical
