Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on public infrastructure, including streets, sidewalks, and traffic signals.
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery such as backhoes, dump trucks, and jackhammers.
- Assist in snow and ice removal operations during inclement weather conditions.
- Inspect city properties and identify potential safety hazards or maintenance needs.
- Respond promptly to emergency service requests and citizen complaints.
- Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment safely and efficiently.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Class C Texas Driver's License and a clean driving record.
- Previous experience in public works, landscaping, or construction maintenance is highly preferred.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
- Physical stamina to perform heavy lifting and operate heavy equipment for extended periods.
- Basic knowledge of safety protocols and OSHA regulations.
