Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery (street sweepers, snowplows, graders)
- Perform preventative maintenance on public facilities and parks
- Respond to emergency weather events (snow removal, flooding response)
- Conduct infrastructure inspections and repair reports
- Coordinate with engineering teams on capital improvement projects
- Train junior staff on equipment safety protocols
- Participate in community outreach events
Qualifications
- Minnesota Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- 3+ years in public works or heavy equipment operation
- OSHA 30-hour construction certification
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in extreme weather
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Knowledge of municipal infrastructure systems
- Valid Minnesota driver's license with clean record
