Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repair on municipal infrastructure, including roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems.
- Operate heavy and light machinery, including dump trucks, front-end loaders, and jackhammers, ensuring all safety protocols are followed.
- Inspect public parks, facilities, and streetlights to identify maintenance needs and report deficiencies to supervisors.
- Assist in snow and ice removal operations during inclement weather to ensure public safety.
- Respond to emergency service calls and citizen work requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain a clean and organized work vehicle and equipment storage areas.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Ohio Driver's License with a good driving record required.
- Previous experience in public works, construction, or general maintenance is highly preferred.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) repeatedly throughout the shift.
- Strong understanding of basic safety standards and procedures.
- Basic mechanical knowledge and the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
