Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on city facilities, roads, and parks
- Operate heavy machinery including graders, excavators, and street sweepers
- Respond to emergency infrastructure repairs during inclement weather
- Inspect and maintain traffic control systems and signage
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and municipal safety standards
- Document maintenance activities and submit progress reports
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- 3+ years of experience in public works or heavy equipment operation
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to work in all weather conditions and physical environments
- Basic knowledge of civil engineering principles and materials
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Pass background check and drug screening
