Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on city parks, streets, and public buildings
- Operate heavy equipment including mowers, trucks, and hand tools safely
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests during inclement weather
- Conduct inspections of municipal assets and report issues
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams on infrastructure projects
- Adhere to all OSHA and city safety protocols
- Maintain accurate work logs and equipment records
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid North Carolina Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in public works or facility maintenance
- Certification in heavy equipment operation preferred
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and physical environments
- Strong problem-solving and teamwork skills
- Pass background check and drug screening
