Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on city streets, sidewalks, and storm drainage systems
- Operate and maintain heavy equipment including dump trucks, loaders, and asphalt machinery
- Conduct regular inspections of public infrastructure and document maintenance needs
- Respond to emergency repair requests during inclement weather or public safety events
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards and city maintenance protocols
- Complete detailed work orders and maintenance documentation using city systems
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required; vocational training in maintenance preferred
- Valid Maryland Class C driver's license with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years of experience in construction, landscaping, or facility maintenance
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification or willingness to obtain within 90 days
- Ability to operate heavy machinery and hand tools safely
- Physical ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of asphalt repair, concrete work, and drainage systems
