Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on city facilities, parks, and infrastructure
- Operate heavy machinery including dump trucks, graders, and trenchers safely
- Conduct routine inspections of water systems, roads, and public grounds
- Respond to emergency repairs during weather events or system failures
- Maintain accurate records of work orders, materials, and equipment usage
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on municipal improvement projects
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety protocols and city regulations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Texas Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) mandatory
- Minimum 2 years experience in public works or heavy equipment operation
- Certification in water distribution systems preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Strong knowledge of municipal infrastructure systems
- Clean background check and pre-employment drug screening required
- Valid Texas Driver's License with clean record
