Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on city streets, sidewalks, and public facilities
- Operate heavy machinery including dump trucks, graders, and snow removal equipment
- Respond to emergency weather events (snow, ice, flooding) on a 24/7 rotation basis
- Conduct regular inspections of municipal assets and document maintenance needs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety protocols and environmental regulations
- Participate in community outreach initiatives related to public works
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; technical certification preferred
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with airbrake endorsement
- Minimum 2 years' experience in public works or heavy equipment operation
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions and lift 50+ pounds
- Strong knowledge of municipal infrastructure systems and maintenance procedures
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to pass background check and physical fitness assessment
