Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair municipal facilities, roads, parks, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy machinery including backhoes, dump trucks, and street sweepers
- Respond to emergency service calls during storms or natural disasters
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on city equipment
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Ensure strict adherence to OSHA and city safety protocols
- Document work activities and maintain accurate maintenance records
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
- Valid Florida Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Minimum 2 years experience in public works or heavy equipment operation
- Certification in water treatment, wastewater management, or stormwater systems preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Spanish language skills highly desirable for diverse community interaction
