Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspection, maintenance, and repair of city streets, sidewalks, and drainage systems.
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery and hand tools used in public works projects.
- Assist in snow and ice removal operations during winter months.
- Respond to emergency repair requests and public inquiries regarding infrastructure.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations.
- Collaborate with other municipal departments to coordinate large-scale infrastructure projects.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in general maintenance, construction, or a related trade.
- Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) if required.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and work in various weather conditions.
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards is preferred.
