Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair city infrastructure including roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy machinery (backhoes, graders) and specialized equipment safely
- Perform preventative maintenance on public facilities and parks
- Respond to emergency repairs during severe weather events
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety protocols and environmental regulations
- Document maintenance activities and submit detailed reports
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years experience in maintenance, construction, or related field
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Ability to operate hand/power tools and heavy machinery
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Physical ability to perform strenuous outdoor work in all weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of blueprint reading and safety standards
