Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on city roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy machinery including graders, excavators, and street sweepers
- Respond to emergency infrastructure repairs during inclement weather
- Conduct regular safety inspections of public facilities and equipment
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Document maintenance activities using digital reporting systems
- Adhere to OSHA and municipal safety protocols at all times
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; technical certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years experience in public works or heavy equipment operation
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with airbrake endorsement
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification or willingness to obtain within 90 days
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic proficiency with digital maintenance tracking systems
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Must pass pre-employment physical and background check
