Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on city facilities, parks, and public spaces
- Operate heavy equipment including trucks, forklifts, and specialized maintenance tools
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in municipal buildings
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and city safety regulations
- Coordinate with contractors and city departments for large-scale projects
- Document maintenance activities using digital tracking systems
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests within specified timeframes
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred
- 3+ years experience in facility maintenance, construction, or public works
- Valid California Class C Driver's License (Class B required within 6 months)
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in outdoor environments
- Basic proficiency with facility management software (CMMS)
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
