Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain heavy equipment (excavators, dump trucks, street sweepers) for infrastructure projects
- Perform preventive maintenance on city facilities including parks, roads, and drainage systems
- Respond to emergency service requests during inclement weather and critical events
- Implement safety protocols and OSHA compliance standards for all operations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on capital improvement projects
- Document work activities and maintain accurate equipment maintenance logs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational certification in maintenance technology preferred
- Valid Washington State Commercial Driver's License (CDL Class B)
- Minimum 2 years experience in municipal/public works maintenance
- OSHA 10-hour construction safety certification required
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in all weather conditions
- Proficiency with GIS mapping and preventive maintenance software
- Pass background check and drug screening per municipal regulations
