Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on streets, sidewalks, and traffic signals
- Operate heavy machinery including street sweepers and snow removal equipment
- Respond to emergency stormwater and drainage issues
- Conduct safety inspections of public infrastructure
- Collaborate with engineering teams on capital improvement projects
- Document maintenance activities using digital work order systems
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid DC Commercial Driver's License (Class B)
- 3+ years experience in municipal maintenance or construction
- OSHA 30-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and work in all weather conditions
- Strong knowledge of DC municipal codes and regulations
- Pass background check and drug screening
