Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain heavy equipment including trucks, loaders, and street sweepers
- Perform routine inspections and repairs of public infrastructure (roads, bridges, sidewalks)
- Coordinate with city departments for stormwater management and drainage projects
- Implement erosion control measures and maintain green spaces
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety protocols and municipal regulations
- Document work activities and prepare maintenance reports
- Respond to emergency service calls during inclement weather
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Minimum 2 years of equipment operation or maintenance experience
- Valid Tennessee Commercial Driver's License (CDL Class B)
- OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of construction materials and repair techniques
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Must pass background check and drug screening
