Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery (street sweepers, dump trucks, asphalt rollers)
- Perform preventative maintenance on public facilities
- Respond to emergency infrastructure repairs
- Conduct water quality testing for stormwater systems
- Coordinate with contractors on municipal projects
- Complete daily equipment inspection reports
- Adhere to OSHA and municipal safety protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Virginia Class B Commercial Driver's License
- Minimum 2 years equipment operation experience
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly
- Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Virginia residency required within 90 days of hire
