Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery (street sweepers, dump trucks, snow plows) for municipal infrastructure projects
- Perform daily inspections and preventative maintenance on city vehicles and equipment
- Respond to emergency weather conditions including snow removal and storm debris cleanup
- Install and repair public amenities including traffic signs, streetlights, and drainage systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for coordinated infrastructure maintenance
- Document work activities using digital reporting systems and maintain equipment logs
- Adhere to OSHA safety protocols and city environmental standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with air brakes endorsement
- Minimum 2 years experience in equipment operation or maintenance
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in all weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of hydraulic systems, engines, and heavy equipment repair
- Pass pre-employment physical and background check
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Strong teamwork skills with ability to communicate effectively in field environments
