Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery (backhoes, graders, dump trucks) for infrastructure projects
- Perform preventative maintenance on public facilities and equipment
- Respond to emergency storm and snow removal operations
- Conduct routine inspections of roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Collaborate with engineering teams on urban development projects
- Ensure strict OSHA compliance and safety protocols
- Document maintenance activities using digital reporting systems
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Indiana Class B CDL license
- 2+ years heavy equipment operation experience
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in extreme weather
- Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Clean driving record and background check
- Residency requirement: Marion County resident within 6 months of hire
