Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance on city infrastructure including sidewalks, drainage systems, and public buildings
- Operate heavy machinery (backhoes, dump trucks) and specialized equipment for municipal projects
- Respond to emergency repairs during severe weather events and natural disasters
- Conduct routine inspections of city property and document maintenance needs
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards and city protocols
- Assist with stormwater management and flood prevention initiatives
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent with 2+ years of maintenance/construction experience
- Valid Florida Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- OSHA 10-hour construction safety certification required
- Proficiency with power tools, hydraulic equipment, and diagnostic tools
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of blueprints and technical schematics
- Successful completion of background check and drug screening
- Florida Stormwater Management certification preferred
