Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on municipal infrastructure including roads, drainage systems, and public facilities
- Operate heavy machinery and specialized equipment safely and efficiently
- Respond to emergency weather events including monsoon storm damage mitigation
- Implement preventative maintenance schedules for city assets
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and municipal safety regulations
- Document maintenance activities using digital work order systems
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred
- Valid Arizona driver's license with clean record
- Minimum 2 years experience in public works or construction maintenance
- OSHA 10-hour certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to operate heavy equipment (dump trucks, backhoes, graders)
- Strong problem-solving skills for field-based troubleshooting
- Ability to work outdoors in extreme temperatures
- Basic knowledge of GIS mapping systems
