Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain heavy equipment (street sweepers, dump trucks, asphalt patchers)
- Perform preventative maintenance on public infrastructure (sidewalks, curbs, traffic signals)
- Respond to emergency service requests within specified timeframes
- Conduct daily safety inspections and maintain equipment logs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Adhere to OSHA regulations and municipal safety protocols
- Document maintenance activities using digital reporting systems
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Oregon Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Minimum 2 years experience in public works or heavy equipment operation
- Certification in traffic control flagging (TCI or equivalent)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in all weather conditions
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Basic proficiency in maintenance software (e.g., Maximo)
- Pass pre-employment background check and drug screening
