Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on city infrastructure including roads, drainage systems, and public facilities
- Operate heavy equipment and machinery safely following OSHA protocols
- Respond to emergency storm-related repairs during inclement weather
- Collaborate with engineering teams to implement infrastructure improvement projects
- Conduct site inspections and document maintenance activities
- Ensure compliance with municipal codes and environmental regulations
- Maintain accurate work logs and equipment maintenance records
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Louisiana Class C driver's license
- Minimum 2 years experience in construction or maintenance
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic plumbing and electrical troubleshooting skills
- Pass background check and pre-employment physical
- Residency in Orleans Parish preferred
