Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs of public facilities including parks, streets, and drainage systems
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery including dump trucks, graders, and trenchers
- Coordinate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Implement safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations
- Document maintenance activities using digital work order systems
- Respond to emergency infrastructure repairs during severe weather events
- Train junior staff on equipment operation and safety procedures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in maintenance or construction preferred
- Minimum 3 years of experience in municipal works, construction, or facilities maintenance
- Valid Texas Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification or ability to obtain within 90 days
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools for heavy equipment maintenance
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic computer skills for work order documentation
