Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery (street sweepers, graders, dump trucks)
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on municipal equipment
- Respond to emergency infrastructure repairs (roads, drainage systems, traffic signals)
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Ensure strict adherence to OSHA and municipal safety protocols
- Document maintenance activities using digital work order systems
- Support stormwater management and environmental compliance initiatives
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Tennessee Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Minimum 2 years heavy equipment operation experience
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights/weekends for emergencies
- Basic computer literacy for reporting systems
- Physical ability to lift 50+ pounds and operate in outdoor conditions
- Tennessee state residency required within 90 days of hire
