Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain heavy equipment including street sweepers, asphalt patchers, and snow removal machinery
- Perform preventative maintenance on public infrastructure including roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Implement sustainable landscaping practices in parks and public spaces
- Respond to emergency storm events and disaster recovery operations
- Conduct routine safety inspections and maintain compliance with OSHA standards
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Document maintenance activities using digital reporting systems
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent with 3+ years in public works maintenance
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with airbrake endorsement
- Certification in hazardous materials handling (HAZWOPER)
- Experience operating heavy machinery and power tools
- Knowledge of sustainable landscaping and irrigation systems
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and emergency call-outs
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
