Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on city streets, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy machinery including excavators, dump trucks, and asphalt pavers
- Respond to emergency infrastructure repairs during severe weather events
- Conduct safety inspections and maintain compliance with OSHA standards
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Document maintenance activities and submit detailed reports
- Train junior staff on proper equipment operation and safety protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; vocational certification preferred
- 3+ years of experience in public works or heavy equipment operation
- Valid Georgia Commercial Driver's License (Class A/B)
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification
- Ability to operate heavy machinery (excavators, graders, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of municipal infrastructure systems
- Physical ability to work in all weather conditions and lift 50+ lbs
- Pass background check and drug screening
