Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on municipal roads, sidewalks, and bridges to ensure public safety.
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery, including dump trucks, loaders, and backhoes, following all safety protocols.
- Inspect public facilities and infrastructure to identify potential hazards or repair needs.
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests and weather-related incidents.
- Maintain an inventory of tools, equipment, and materials, ensuring proper organization and safety.
- Collaborate with other municipal departments to coordinate large-scale projects.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Previous experience in construction, landscaping, or public works is highly preferred.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform physical labor in various weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge of hydraulic systems and heavy equipment operation is a plus.
- Pass a background check and drug screening.
