Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance on parks, streets, and municipal facilities
- Operate heavy machinery including trucks, graders, and asphalt equipment
- Respond to emergency repairs during weather events or infrastructure failures
- Conduct daily safety inspections and maintain equipment logs
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams on capital improvement projects
- Train junior staff on proper equipment handling and safety protocols
Qualifications
- Valid California Class C Driver's License (Class B preferred)
- 3+ years in public works or heavy equipment maintenance
- Certification in OSHA safety standards or equivalent
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Experience with GIS mapping systems and digital work order platforms
- Fluency in English with Spanish proficiency highly desirable
- Pass background check and physical fitness assessment
