Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repair of streets, sidewalks, and public grounds.
- Operate heavy machinery, including pavers, rollers, and sweepers, safely and efficiently.
- Assist in snow and ice removal operations during inclement weather conditions.
- Inspect public infrastructure to identify damage, hazards, or maintenance needs.
- Respond to emergency service requests and citizen inquiries regarding city services.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and equipment.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid North Carolina Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) preferred.
- Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
- Experience with heavy construction or maintenance equipment is a plus.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
