Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain heavy equipment (backhoes, graders, dump trucks)
- Perform street repairs, drainage maintenance, and sidewalk construction
- Conduct routine inspections of municipal infrastructure
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and Cal/OSHA safety standards
- Document work activities and maintain equipment logs
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure projects
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests during off-hours
Qualifications
- Valid California Class C driver's license (Class B preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of equipment operation experience
- Certification in water distribution systems (Grade I or higher)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD or GIS mapping
- Experience with stormwater management best practices
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
