Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on city infrastructure including sidewalks, drainage systems, and park facilities
- Operate heavy machinery (e.g., dump trucks, graders) and power tools safely and efficiently
- Respond to emergency service calls for stormwater drainage and public property damage
- Conduct regular inspections of assigned zones to identify maintenance needs and hazards
- Collaborate with engineering teams to implement infrastructure improvement projects
- Complete detailed work logs and reports using digital systems
- Adhere to OSHA safety protocols and environmental regulations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid California Class C Driver's License with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years of experience in public works, construction, or facility maintenance
- Certification in heavy equipment operation (e.g., CDL Class B preferred)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in various weather conditions
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Basic proficiency with GIS mapping software and digital reporting tools
- Pass pre-employment physical and background check
