Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance on streets, sidewalks, and public facilities
- Operate heavy machinery including graders, loaders, and street sweepers
- Respond to weather-related emergencies (floods, storms) within 4-hour response window
- Conduct infrastructure inspections and document maintenance activities
- Collaborate with engineering teams on capital improvement projects
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and Cal/OSHA safety standards
- Maintain accurate work logs and digital records
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid California Class C driver's license (Class A/B preferred)
- 2+ years of public works or heavy equipment operation experience
- Certification in confined space entry and trench safety
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Successful completion of background check and drug screening
- Basic computer proficiency for digital reporting systems
