Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance on municipal roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy machinery including asphalt pavers, dump trucks, and trenchers
- Respond to emergency infrastructure repairs during inclement weather
- Conduct daily safety inspections of equipment and work sites
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and material usage
- Participate in cross-departmental disaster response initiatives
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent with 2+ years infrastructure maintenance experience
- Valid California Class C Driver's License (Class B preferred)
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification or ability to obtain within 30 days
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Familiarity with SF Public Works safety protocols and blueprints
- CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain
- Spanish bilingual skills highly preferred
