Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair municipal infrastructure including roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy machinery and specialized equipment safely and efficiently
- Perform routine inspections of public works facilities and report maintenance needs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with municipal regulations
- Document work activities and maintain accurate records of maintenance tasks
- Respond to emergency public works situations during off-hours as required
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent with 3+ years in public works maintenance
- Valid California Class C driver's license with clean driving record
- OSHA 10-hour construction safety certification
- Experience operating heavy equipment (backhoes, graders, etc.)
- Knowledge of municipal infrastructure systems and repair techniques
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to pass background check and pre-employment physical
