Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on streets, sidewalks, and public facilities
- Operate heavy equipment including backhoes and dump trucks
- Respond to emergency infrastructure repairs and storm-related issues
- Conduct safety inspections and maintain compliance with OSHA standards
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Document maintenance activities and prepare detailed reports
- Train junior staff on proper equipment handling and safety protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid California Class B Driver's License with clean record
- Minimum 2 years of public works or construction maintenance experience
- Certification in heavy equipment operation preferred
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification required
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in all weather conditions
- Strong communication skills and ability to follow technical plans
- Pass background check and pre-employment physical
