Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on city roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy machinery including dump trucks, graders, and excavation equipment
- Respond to emergency service requests (e.g., storm debris removal, utility repairs)
- Conduct safety inspections of public infrastructure and document findings
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and equipment records
- Adhere to OSHA and city safety protocols at all times
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Florida Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Minimum 2 years experience in public works or heavy equipment operation
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of asphalt, concrete, and drainage systems
- Successful completion of background check and drug screening
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
