Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery (backhoes, dump trucks, graders) for infrastructure projects
- Perform preventative maintenance on city facilities, parks, and irrigation systems
- Respond to emergency repairs during weather events or public safety incidents
- Conduct daily safety inspections and maintain equipment logs per OSHA standards
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams on municipal improvement projects
- Implement sustainable practices in water conservation and waste management
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; technical certification preferred
- Valid Arizona Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean record
- 3+ years experience in municipal maintenance or construction
- Certification in equipment operation or hazardous materials handling
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Pass background check and pre-employment physical
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification
