Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repair of streets, sidewalks, and public right-of-way.
- Clean and maintain drainage systems, catch basins, and storm water infrastructure to prevent flooding.
- Repair and maintain traffic signs, guardrails, and street furniture to ensure safety.
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery, including dump trucks, jackhammers, and paving equipment.
- Assist in snow and ice removal operations during adverse weather conditions.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests and public service inquiries in a timely manner.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and OSHA guidelines while performing tasks.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Florida Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is highly preferred.
- Previous experience in public works, construction, or general maintenance is a plus.
- Ability to perform physical labor including lifting, bending, and operating heavy equipment.
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
