Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain city vehicles, machinery, and equipment for infrastructure projects
- Perform routine inspections and repairs of public facilities, roads, and drainage systems
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards and municipal regulations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on emergency response and disaster recovery
- Document work activities using digital reporting systems and maintain accurate records
- Participate in community outreach initiatives related to public works projects
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED with 2+ years of maintenance experience
- Valid California Class C Driver's License with clean driving record
- Certification in heavy equipment operation or willingness to obtain within 6 months
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions
- Proficiency with basic hand/power tools and diagnostic equipment
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Experience with GIS or municipal asset management systems preferred
