Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on city streets, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy machinery including excavators, dump trucks, and asphalt rollers
- Implement traffic control measures during construction and maintenance activities
- Respond to emergency infrastructure repairs and storm-related incidents
- Conduct regular inspections of public facilities and document findings
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and municipal safety standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent with 2+ years maintenance experience
- Valid California Class C driver's license with clean driving record
- Certification in traffic control flagging (TCI) preferred
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and effectively
- Strong physical stamina for outdoor work in varying weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of construction materials and repair techniques
- Pass background check and pre-employment physical examination
- Experience with GIS mapping systems highly desirable
