Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on city streets, sidewalks, and public facilities
- Operate heavy machinery including asphalt compactors, street sweepers, and trench diggers
- Respond to emergency infrastructure repairs during storms or natural disasters
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Conduct safety inspections and maintain equipment according to OSHA standards
- Document work progress and maintain accurate maintenance records
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Minimum 2 years of experience in public works or construction maintenance
- Valid California Class C Driver's License with clean driving record
- Certification in OSHA safety protocols preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in outdoor weather conditions
- Basic proficiency with maintenance tracking software (e.g., Maximo)
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
