Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on city roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy machinery including dump trucks, loaders, and asphalt equipment
- Conduct inspections of public infrastructure and document maintenance needs
- Assist in emergency response for storm damage or utility failures
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams on large-scale infrastructure projects
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety protocols and environmental regulations
- Prepare detailed maintenance reports and work order documentation
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Arizona Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Minimum 2 years experience in public works or heavy equipment operation
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic proficiency with maintenance software (e.g., Maximo, CMMS)
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Pass pre-employment physical and background check
