Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on city streets, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy equipment (e.g., dump trucks, graders, jackhammers) safely and efficiently
- Respond to emergency repairs during inclement weather or public safety incidents
- Conduct infrastructure inspections and document maintenance activities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate public works projects
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety regulations and city protocols
- Participate in community outreach initiatives related to public works
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 2 years of experience in public works or construction maintenance
- Valid California Class C driver's license with clean driving record
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to operate heavy machinery safely (training provided)
- Physical stamina to perform outdoor work in varying weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of civil engineering principles and infrastructure systems
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
