Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery (backhoes, graders, dump trucks) for infrastructure projects
- Perform routine maintenance on roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Respond to emergency storm damage and public safety hazards
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and safety compliance checks
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on municipal improvement projects
- Document work activities using digital reporting systems
- Adhere to OSHA and Cal/OSHA safety protocols
Qualifications
- Valid California Class C Driver's License (Class B preferred)
- Minimum 2 years heavy equipment operation experience
- OSHA 10-hour Construction certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred
- Pass pre-employment physical and background check
- Basic computer proficiency for reporting systems
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
