Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain heavy equipment (e.g., street sweepers, dump trucks) for public infrastructure projects
- Perform routine maintenance on parks, sidewalks, storm drains, and traffic signals
- Respond to emergency service calls for damaged public property
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on urban beautification initiatives
- Conduct daily inspections of assigned work areas and report safety hazards
- Adhere to OSHA and municipal safety protocols at all times
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid California Class C Driver's License with clean record
- Minimum 2 years' experience in public works or related field
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in various weather conditions
- Strong knowledge of San Diego municipal infrastructure systems
- Pass background check and pre-employment physical
